Paris. This is the main reason we came on the trip to begin with. It was a surprise for my 50th birthday from my family. I remember seeing the Eiffel Tower for the first time and a tear came to my eye! It is spectacular.
After a 2.5 hour train ride with Eurostar from our first stop London – we hoped in a cab to our hotel San Regis. I actually came to know this hotel through Instagram and fell in love with the look of it. Again very small and quaint but absolute luxury.
Erica got us upgraded to a suite – I squealed when I entered the room : ) where Champagne and apples were waiting for our arrival – we felt truly spoiled. Everyone always told me “just wait” the rooms in Paris are tiny you wont be able to even open your luggage. …this room was huge.
We hit the ground running, Champs-Élysées, a guided tour of l’Arc de Triomphe for some of the best views of the city – ofcourse the Eiffel Tower (it was so windy the day we went you couldn’t go to the summit – that was fine with me : ), a champagne riverboat cruise along the Seine River. We went to the Louvre but only saw it from the outside this time – we had to try a restaurant that was there that overlooked the beautiful courtyard, which again was a great place to people watch – Cafe Marly.
